Air Permeable Composites
Microporous aluminum with consistent porosity, offer significant design flexibility without the need to drill vacuum holes for quick prototype tooling. The absence of drilled vacuum holes eliminates surface imperfections on highly cosmetic or transparent parts and allows for the machining of intricate part detail.
. BF 100 AL Standard Grade
Commonly used with PS, ABS, PVC, PET and PE. Its upper operating temperature limit is 212 degrees F (100 degrees C).
. HD 100 AL High Density Grade
The material that is recommended for use in applications where the surface characteristics of the finished part are critical. Also recommended for use with acrylics and in twin-sheet applications.
. HD 210 AL High Temperature/High Density Grade
Can be used with PS, ABS, PVC, PET and PE, but is also suitable for processing higher temperature polymers such as PC or Acrylic. Its upper operating temperature limit is 410 degrees F (210 degrees C).
. PROTOBLOCK
New composite material made of inorganic granules and epoxy resin engineered to form a micro-porous structure for use as prototype vacuum form or thermoform tooling. PROTOBLOCK is a cost effective alternative to other permeable materials when considering short duration runs.
